One of these survivors is you. As the hegemon of Muscovy, you have managed to unite most Russian city-states to your cause, but even so, there still are new dangers and many who still oppose your rule. The Mongols have swamped almost all of Russia, leaving only Novgorod in Ladoga independent. The first thing you need to do as the new kynaz of Muscovy is to send your army to seize Belarus. Belarus guards the borders between Poland and you, and in addition also boasts a good supply of Iron Ore. Sell the bonus card that you obtained to someone else (preferably the Venetians) to gain an ample supply of tribute, then proceed to seize Birka to the north to obtain a second army and an outpost against the Danes or the Habsburgs.
Now you have to move quickly. Send your forces through Horde territory southwards, capturing the territories of Kiev and Astrakhan, so you can secure yourself against another Mongol invasion (this time by the Chagatai), and possibly a nascent Ottoman state. If you meet the Chagatai, you need to remember that you need to infllct at least two defeats on them before they will be peaceable enough to be negotiated with. You may even be able to even possibly form an alliance with them to divide up Asia and keep the other European powers out. Once this is done, you should be stable enough to either go on a world conquering spree, or attempt to prise ten colonies from their owners.
- Eliminate all non-aligned factions or acquire 10 colonies
- Secondary task:
- Seize control of Belarus, Birka, Kiev and Astrakhan and consolidate your rule.
- Defeat the Chagatai twice in a row to subdue them and prevent them from invading further.
